Mr. Turner has over 14 years of experience with an extensive oncology background, with 11 of those years in radiation oncology. Mr. Turner started his career as a dosimetrist and soon transitioned his career to administrative roles. He worked as a service line administrator at Banner Health MD Anderson Cancer Center in Phoenix. While at Banner Health, Mr. Turner was a key contributor in the overall success of developing a robust radiation oncology program which included five outpatient facilities in Arizona and two outpatient facilities in Denver. In a leadership position at Banner Health, Mr. Turner assisted in creating a culture of excellence driven by his proactive approach to business, healthcare administration and self-development. He also provided comprehensive knowledge in software integration, workflow standardization, project management, analytics, committee design, and quality and safety.
Mr. Turner has an extensive training and education background, where he trained staff to become more efficient. Mr. Turner has authored and co-authored six peer-reviewed publications, trained over 250 radiation oncology clinicians, and served as co-editor for the American Association of Medical Dosimetrist (AAMD). Most notably, Mr. Turner partnered with MD Anderson to develop a radiation therapy and dosimetry school program in Arizona where they teach clinical and didactic education to undergraduates looking to start an exciting career in radiation oncology.
As a lifetime learner, he takes great pride in mentoring young leaders – helping them develop skills in emotional intelligence, organization culture, conflict resolution and engagement initiatives. Mr. Turner is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Tennessee Technological University and the University of Phoenix.
